Getting Started
I understand that deciding to see a therapist is a big investment. Furthermore, finding the “right” person to work with is extremely important. You need someone you can trust not to judge you, who asks questions and works to understand what you are going through.
Integral Counseling and Wellness aims to fully address whatever you are bringing with you in the therapy room whether online or in-person.
Are you ready to get started?
Here are step-by-step instructions to help guide you to see me as quickly as possible.
Step 1: Reach Out
Let me know how I can help and what you need. Either email me or schedule a free 20-minute consult.
Step 2: Free Consult
Integral Counseling and Wellness offers a free 20-minute consult through phone, email, or online to ensure I understand your needs and that your schedule can fit into what I can offer. I want you to feel relaxed and comfortable as this is an informal talk, just to ensure the most effective therapy treatment for you. This is the time to ask questions, be inquisitive, and be curious. I will verify financial details and listen to any concerns.
Step 3: Becoming a Client
All Integral Counseling and Wellness clients have access to an online portal with appointment scheduling and payments. The portal houses all the forms necessary for electronic signing. Clients are able to schedule appointments, cancel appointments, check balances, and address any questions or concerns. All forms, intake documents, and client demographics are completed through this portal which is HIPAA secure and encrypted for both of our protection.
Step 4: Paperwork
All paperwork must be submitted within 24 hours of your appointment time. This allows Integral Counseling and Wellness to ensure I am ready for your arrival.
Step 5: First Session
Typically, the first 1-3 sessions are a conversation to get a sense of what brought you here to therapy and to get clarity on how I can best be of service to you. It is an opportunity to share concerns, discuss any expectations, and to identify goals.
It is an opportunity for you to ask questions about me, my style, background, qualifications etc. while addressing any additional housekeeping issues or questions you may have. It is an opportunity for me to actively listen to you and start to get an idea of who you are and how you relate and function in life. I take inventory of your biological, social, spiritual, sexual, social, academic, and relationship health.
I ask questions to get a better sense of who you are, and I clarify what has or has not worked in the past if you have seen other therapists. After these initial sessions, we work on creating a treatment plan which will help keep our therapeutic relationship focused on your immediate goals.
It helps us both to be held accountable for what is being worked on, how it is being worked on, and what needs to be accomplished therapeutically for you to feel ready to either move on to another issue or to discharge from treatment. The treatment plan is always available to be refreshed and revisited and can change as we work together.
