Why Work With Me? What makes me different?

Convenient

My secure online portal allows for online scheduling, instant messaging, and keeping track of your billing statements all with the click of a button. With 24/7 online scheduling, a secure client portal, and the ability to see clients in-person or online throughout the state of Texas, I make it easy to fit therapy into your busy life. And getting started is simple: instead of playing phone tag, just click here and schedule your free no-obligation 20-minute phone consultation.

Accessibility

The last thing you need are barriers when you are needing help, right now. Integral Counseling and Wellness has worked hard to remove any barriers to care, from easy online scheduling to an easily accessible office.

Quality

I maintain a small caseload of people who I believe I can be of service to while offering the best care I can. I am easily accessible between sessions and during normal business hours.

Efficient

The last thing you need is a passive head-nodding, therapist in session, where you leave questioning if anything has happened. My goal is to help you begin to see progress as soon as possible.

Strengths based

Seeking out care for mental health may come with a certain amount of stigma. Not here. At Integral Counseling and Wellness, I believe your story is your strength. You are here to tell your story, and I am here to listen, to validate, and to help you heal and thrive.

Humanity

Surprise! I am a human too. Going to see a therapist can feel scary or it may feel exciting. I want you to feel as comfortable as you can, no matter what you are experiencing. My only expectation is for you to show up. The way our humanity manifests in session is a beautiful gift. In session we will witness and engage with listening, reflecting, laughing, and maybe crying. I am human, just like you, and I am not above you.

Collaboration

Mental health is just one piece of a larger wellness puzzle. Wellness goes beyond just our session. I will work with you to find other wellness practitioners that are reasonable and who resonate with you to better enhance your therapeutic treatment.

Authenticity

What you see is what you get with me and I take great pride in that. I am not afraid to tell you that I am not an expert, and I am not afraid to tell you I can’t work with you if I don’t feel I can help. I will never keep you on my client case load just to string you along. Clients have provided feedback stating that my authenticity has helped to lessen anxiety related to initiating the therapy relationship.

Transparency

I am committed to providing you with the most honest, direct therapeutic relationship possible. If you don’t understand something-ask me! The more questions you have, the better. I never want you to leave a session feeling unsure about something that I have said or done. I take great pride in being as open as possible.

Diversity

I have a wide range of experience with all kinds of people. I am boldly committed to providing mental health services without discrimination against, or harassment of, any person on the basis of race, color, religion, ancestry, national origin, citizenship status, age, sex, marital status, relationship status, relationship structure, genetic information, creed, sexual orientation, gender expression, gender identity, non-qualifying disability, pregnancy, physical, mental or other disability, medical condition, cultural background, economic status, education, and/ or veteran status. All clients will be treated with dignity, compassion, and respect as an individual-gender identity will be respected, and you will be referred to by your name and preferred pronouns.

Curiosity

One of my favorite things to say when facing problems is to try to look at them as if you were a curious observer, like a child, or maybe a scientist (white coat and beakers included!). I utilize this approach often and hope that you will also see the benefits of it.

Expertise

I have experience with grief, death, and loss, (including pets), adoption (birthparents and adoptive parents), life transitions, eating disorders and disordered eating behaviors, college student transitions, and overall life maintenance with children, adolescents, adults, and couples.

Ownership

I encourage my clients (and myself!) to own their feelings. No matter whether you are feeling sadness, grief, embarrassment, excitement, or anger-they are all valid and will be allowed (and encouraged!) to be in the room with us. Our society places a lot of stigma on emotion, but I encourage healthy exploration of all emotions.

Education

I received my Masters degree in Contemplative Counseling Psychology and am currently working on my dissertation for my PhD in Integral Transpersonal Psychology. My education incorporates Eastern and Western traditions, traditional, clinical, and holistic modalities, and a wide range of techniques I have chosen to integrate into therapy. I believe in using an integrative model as no person is the same as another.
